Kalayna is a student researcher for the Native Policy Lab (NPL) at the University of Iowa. She is on the pre-dental track, majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Native American and Indigenous Studies. Kalayna is expected to graduate in May 2028. After graduation, Kalayna plans to attend dental school with the goal of becoming an orthodontist. She hopes to either work for her community, or open her own practice. Kalayna joined the NPL because she enjoys learning new information and feels the NPL helps her build a different perspective on Native American history beyond what she already knows.
